Weekend shout out!
Yesterday was a busy day for me. I spent the morning as coordinator and general runner for our church's Stampede Breakfast. I had planned and shopped for 250 servings, but we passed out well over 400 plates.....so had a bit of a panic and sent someone out for more pancake batter. Our line was the longest I've ever seen it and the weather was sunny but not too hot.
In the afternoon we did a quick clean up and set up our lower hall for a Memorial Service reception for one of our Church's patriarchs. I am so thankful for everyone who stepped up and helped us.
In addition to quilting and teaching, I love spending time at my church, Thornhilll Baptist Church. So many wonderful people and great friends as well as inspiring worship.
In the Studio
I want to write a more detailed blog post about this quilt, but I thought I'd share at least one picture of a quilt I did for my Dad many years ago and added more quiltng this week.
The Studio will be open limited hours this week, we may take off for a few days. Machine rentals are available days and evenings.
On the Calendar
A lot of fun and productive sewing was had on the Sew/Quilt day on Tuesday. I'm opening up the studio again for another Sew and Quilt day this Tuesday. Tuesday's weather forecast is for 30 degrees and no rain! So, come beat the heat and sew in my cool studio, 9am-9pm. Just $15. Please pre-register.
Today is the last day to register for this week's classes. It takes time to get organized, rearrange the studio and set up for classes, so I need a few days to know that classes will run and how many to expect. Contact me to register. A reminder, that you are not registered until you have paid. The easiest method of payment is an e-transfer or call with a credit card.

I've been talking to Cathy and Lori at Pinheads Quilting Company and thinking of resurrecting my KidSew sewing program. One of the most enjoyable experiences in my life was my KidSew classes that I taught when I owned Needleworks Sewing and Classes. I so miss teaching the kids and am hoping we can schedule something this fall., If you are interested in these classes for your child, contact Cathy at Pinheads Quilting Company
I'm also looking at offering some Handi Quilter Pro-Stitcher workshops. I'll keep you posted on those. The plans are underway. Hopefully I'll have a schedule to share next Shout Out!
On the Road
I had a blast last Saturday with Kim and Gary from Chatterbox Quilts. We spent the day filming a series of short (less than 10 minutes) videos on a variety of topics on Free Motion Quilting on a Sit Down machine. Gary is doing the hard part now of editing our "conversations" into clear and watchable videos.
I'm still looking for a catchy name for this weekly "shout out". Would love some alliteration....Weekend __________. Send me your ideas!
.Have a great week sewing and quilting.
