Weekend Shout Out!

Happy Anniversary and Happy Birthday!!!! To my hubby and my Mummy! If you run into either of them this week, wish them a happy as I'm not near either and I'll miss hugging them!

I watched a great videos] recently that I thought was too good not to share. Natalia Bonner's video on unpicking machine quilting. I watched it and had to try it right away. It works!!!!

In the Studio

I'm mostly out of the studio for the next few weeks. When I'm in I'll be madly quilting! So, the studio will be closed for rentals and open by appointment for quilt drop offs. I was reminded this weekend that Christmas is right around the corner. Sheesh! But we've got to get those quilts done. My lovely ladies (Amy-Joy and Ava) are available to help!

Did you know that I'll trim your quilt and even machine stitch the binding on for you! Now that's an easy Holiday gift to finish!

On the Calendar

I'm in Toronto this weekend for their Creative Festival. Drop by the Handi Quilter booth and say hi!

I had so much fun on Tuesday evening at My Sewing Room for the Longarmers Social Club. We looked at the best way to add borders to a quilt for a smooth quilt on a frame. We also discussed some ways to quilt with simple straight lines. Our next meeting is November 13. We'll be doing a bit of "what the heck do I do now?" and I've asked the participants to bring in some quilt tops and we'll discuss and share ideas on how to quilt them!

AND for those who have Pro-Stitcher Premium, computer software for Quilting on their longarm, we have a club for you! Tuesday evening on October 23. We are going to learn sooooo much! Bring your tablet or laptop and we'll learn. Club is every 4th Tuesday at My Sewing Room.

Sewing with Kids starts this coming week. 4-5:30 at My Sewing Room on Mondays. We'll start a Tuesday class at the end of the month. This is a great series of classes that will teach your child some of the basics of sewing while they make great projects!

On the Road

Next week I'll be in Medicine Hat for a Handi Quilter event at Dueck's Sewing Center. Contact them directly if you are interested in the classes I'll be teaching.
