Jubilation!

Have you seen the pictures of the Jubilation Block of the Month by Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Design? I LOVE IT!

I love it so much I'm hosting a monthly class starting January 14.

The pattern is set up so that we'll sew multiples of different blocks each month. The quilt blocks are quite easy, they just look difficult! By stitching up 2 or more blocks, we are getting lots of practice.

I like how there will be space for lots of background quilting later.

I've already started with some of the blocks (so I can show you how they are done!) and have decided to start a monthly series of blog posts about the Jubilation quilt and our process. The cool thing about this full-coloured pattern is that it is sewn together into larger sections as we complete them, so we have a sense of accomplishment every month. We won't be struggling to put this 100" x 100" quilt together at the end.

Here are the details.

  • Sunday afternoons from 1-4. The studio will be open till 6 if you want to stay and sew.

  • Cost is $225 (includes the 8 month pattern and instruction)

  • You will need a Tucker Trimmer and Wing Clipper, Square Squared, Corner Beam and a Quilter's Magic Want. You won't need all of them at once. We'll start with the Tucker Trimmer I and after a few months, add the additional tools. I'll have extra tools available for you to use in our sew time together so you can try before you buy!

As you can see above, the first month blocks make use of the Shaded Four Patch technique. These blocks went together quickly and easily. If you've never used the Studio 180 Design tools you'll find this introduction to them to be fast, fun and accurate.

If you want to join me, just drop me a line. Space is limited.

I have the patterns and tools in stock.

I'm going to head back to my fabrics to make some more blocks! Hope you join me.
